Fixora Sitemap Cache (wordpress.org slug: cache-xml-sitemap) pre-generates static XML sitemap cache files and serves them with correct application/xml headers. Built for sites using Yoast SEO, Rank Math, or WordPress core wp-sitemap XML.

What this release does

Detects Yoast SEO, Rank Math, and core WordPress XML sitemaps when present.
WP-Cron background regeneration; fast static file serving for sitemap URLs.
Admin UI: per-provider toggles, cache status, clear cache, regenerate now.
Page-cache conflict notices (LiteSpeed Cache, W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache).
Optional Yoast internal transient sitemap cache toggle (off by default) with stale-cache warning.
Subdirectory installs: request paths normalized against home_url for reliable cache hits.

This plugin replaces the legacy 1.x release that only enabled Yoast’s wpseo_enable_xml_sitemap_transient_caching filter. Version 2.0.0 is a full rewrite under the same plugin slug.

Installation

Upload the cache-xml-sitemap folder to /wp-content/plugins/ (or update via WordPress.org).
Activate Fixora Sitemap Cache.
Open Settings Sitemap Cache, enable providers, click Regenerate now.
Verify your sitemap URL returns XML and X-Fixora-Sitemap-Cache: hit (see FAQ).

FAQ

How do I verify the sitemap cache is working?: After regeneration: curl -sI https://yoursite.example/wp-sitemap.xml (or /sitemap_index.xml). Expect Content-Type: application/xml and X-Fixora-Sitemap-Cache: hit.
Does this store visitor IP addresses?: No. Internal logs are capped and redact IP-like patterns.
