Back then, you have to configure your cookie banners, geolocation rules and consent policies without clear documentation. You also had to manually include the cookie banner script tags generated by OneTrust into your website in order to get the cookie banners to work, which often times cluttered up your website’s code. OneTrust has made several improvements and updates to their platform and SDK since then and CookiePro streamlines the process of adding cookie banners by allowing you to copy and paste the script tags. Overall my experience with CookiePro is good to fair – this plugin helps to make quick changes and removes the need to physically include OT script tags in your web code (which is a headache if your website code is version-controlled). It increases the privacy issues of a website, because it installs a tracker, a third-party script which makes every visitor of your website contact a domain/website under USA jurisdiction.
